A featured spot on a directory or blog can drive 5–10x the traffic of a standard listing. The good news: "featured" is rarely luck. Editors pick apps that are easy to write about, look credible, and save them work.

1. Make your listing screenshot-perfect

Editors skim visually first. You need: a crisp 512px+ logo on a solid background, a one-line tagline under 60 characters, and 2–3 screenshots showing the core action. Unfinished assets = no feature.

2. Nail the one-liner

Pattern: [what it is] for [who], that [key benefit]. Example: "AI writing tool for marketers, that turns a brief into a ranked draft in 90 seconds." Vague taglines never get featured.

3. Be already credible

Editors check signals: Trustpilot reviews? Press kit? Working demo? Get your directory and review-site presence in place first.

4. Build the press kit

A /press page with: logo pack (SVG + PNG, light/dark), 3 screenshots, 100-word boilerplate, founder bio + headshot, and a demo video. Editors won't chase you for assets.

5. Pitch with a story

Email editors with the angle: why now, who it's for, one surprising metric. Offer exclusive or early access. Under 150 words. Link the press kit.

6. Submit to featured programs

  • AppGeoList Editor's Picksubmit and tick "consider for featured"; reviewed weekly.
  • ToolPilot Editor's Pick — reviewed AI tools.
  • Uneed daily feature — daily launch slot.
  • FutureTools featured — curated homepage rotation.
The unsexy truth: most apps aren't featured because their listing is incomplete — missing screenshots, broken demo, no pricing. Fix the basics and you're ahead of 70% of submissions.

After you're featured

Thank the editor, screenshot the feature for your press page, and repurpose it: "As featured on AppGeoList" builds social proof that wins the next feature. Features compound.
